She lay on the floor covered in blood. The expression of horror on her face frozen in time. He dropped to his knees, struck with disbelief. He moved closer towards her only to be interrupted by a sound coming from the kitchen. He turned his head, his eyes meet the creature's. He got to his feet and ran upstairs in fear of the the thing following him. He ran to the closest room and slammed the door, locking it quickly. he stepped back, as he cold hear that thing clawing at the only thing standing between it and him. He stood waiting for it to come through. After a few brief moments of fear, it gave up and he listened as it ran down the stairs.

He stood in the window, then sun slowly setting in the distance. The alarm sounded. He knew what was coming next. A single tear ran down his face as remembered all that had brought him to this point. Eyes widened as he the first bomb hit. As more and more crashed around him, he looked deep into the foggy image of his reflection and whispered " I just wanted to go home."
